Transforming Emotional Trauma: The Rural Outreach Martin Luther King Jr once said,'' When evil men plot, good men must plan. When evil men burn and bomb, good men must build and bind. When evil men shout ugly words of hatred, good men must commit themselves to the glories of love'' and what better way to affirm this than a collaboration. Transforming Emotional Trauma Rural Outreach was a huge Success. AWWAS in collaboration with Safe Haven reached 70 women in a rural area in Nasarawa state who had gone through abuse and gave some of them the opportunity to share their experiences. They also had one-on-one counseling sessions to help them unburden and heal in the best way, food and gift items were shared with the women, and most importantly, a follow-up to make sure the women were on the best path on their journeys of recovery.
